Truly a unique experience!The atmosphere is exceptional, there's nothing in the city like it. The hospitality of the only cook/server is incredible: you really feel like eating at someone's house, not a restaurant.The food is delicious: Tav Kosi (yogurt and lamb casserole), Tav me Pestil (lamb stew with sour plum dried marmalade) and rice stuffed peppers were all great. The qofte (spiced burgers) for the kids was also very tasty. Exceptional selection of raki (distilled liquor).If you stop in Elbasan this is a must, nothing like this compares. Only negative note is that it doesn't accommodate easily large groups, so plan ahead with the owner.

Great vibes and yummy traditional food. The owner is very nice and gave us all kinds of things to try. With a fireplace and traditional decoration it’s a must go in Elbasan. The raki is great and I love that you’re served in traditionally decorated ceramic dishes. The food is so flavorful and delicious. Good prices too.

Great authentic food in a ‘museum’Chef’s parents got this taverna in 1903 and the chef transformed it with many collectibles like radios, telephones, dolls from then till now.More than his great culinary skill and the rustic local liquor, the chef is most inspirational - he made his taverna an attraction drawing international fans in this little town of Elbasan.Come here to enjoy Albanian food with great human spirit

Elbasan tava is definitely out of this world! So yummy, spinach borek was crunchy outside and soft inside. The owner of the place brought us dessert from the house, he can’t speak English well but he is nice and kind. We paid 38euros for three Elbasan tava and 1 borek. Inside the restaurant, it looks like a museum of antique accessories, so delightful.

we visited in June 2024 and were amazed. the food was amazing (I recommend the calf with pestil). we also had salad before the main dish and it wad divine, the best tomato we ever tried. the bread was tasty as well. the host was so nice and he made all the food (for 14 people!!) himself. I really recommend this place!

This is our fourth time here and after travelling Albania for the last 4 weeks we still think this is one of our favourite restaurants.We even made a special stop heading to Lin just to eat here. Always manage to drive or get the bus through Elbasan just to have some food here.The owner is adorable ! The traditional Albanian food is absolutely delicious.The Calf meat is super soft and tender, the peppers are a challenge to get though as there are so many, the bread is really fresh and the salads plate is banging The food portions are big so value for money. You also get free dessert which is so tasty I’m not sure what else you could ask for from a restaurant?!I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.Thank you for your delicious food
